We're not all about beaches..but ........

Crete has some of the best beaches in the Mediterranean, in fact Elafonisi is considered to be one of the best beaches in the world. My own personal favourites are Falassarna and Marathi and for completely different reasons. That of course is the beauty of Crete, the diversification of its coastline. If six people who lived on Crete were discussing their favourite beach, they would probably nominate six different beaches. These beaches are all in Western Crete and I have left Loutro out of the list as I discuss Loutro in the Villages section.

Georgioupoli boasts 9 kms of sandy beach. Lovely sandy beaches that you can always find a secluded spot on as the beach is very accessible. This is the largest resort of the Apokoronas, so can get very busy in high season, especially the town beach. Swimm
